An Introvert’s Guide to My Brand shoots: No hilarious laughing included.
Not everyone craves big, fun, happy, smiley brand shots, laughing hysterically, and playing peek-a-boo behind a laptop! If you’re more introverted or reserved in your day-to-day life and relationships, the idea of a high-energy photo shoot might feel overwhelming. But as an entrepreneur, side hustler, or small business owner, it’s still important to show up and show your face for your current and potential clients. They want to see the real you, and that doesn’t require forcing a big smile or being someone you’re not.
If you’re still deciding whether to book a brand session with me, here are three reminders that it doesn’t have to be a big, daunting deal:
Fun Shots Aren’t for Everyone
If the thought of fun, bubbly. Silly images give you a physical reaction, know those shots are not for you. And that’s perfectly okay. It wouldn’t even work to try to fake the fun.
While I love a good cheeky image and have never seen a laughing shot I didn’t like, I also know how to bring out confident, engaging poses and natural smiles that don’t even have to involve showing your teeth! My goal is for you to look at the images on the back of my camera and feel like I’ve captured your best-looking version.
I’ll Match Your Energy
I usually like to bring the energy and keep it up throughout the session to encourage and reassure you that your photos look fabulous.
However, if you’re more low-key and laid-back and prefer a calm and relaxed session without upbeat music or poses that push you too far out of your comfort zone, I can deliver that, too. The more comfortable and at ease you feel, the better the images will turn out.
(Just a heads-up—I might still try to make you laugh at least once during the session. I can’t help it!)
We’ll Get to Know Each Other Beforehand
The shoot day won’t be the first time you’re meeting me! As we plan your session, we’ll spend time online during our strategy call. We’ll discuss your answers from the brand questionnaire, and I’ll get to know what drives you, your goals, and any obstacles or challenges you’ve faced in promoting your brand. This helps us build rapport long before shoot day so you can feel confident that I know exactly who you are and what you need.
